Join us for a fascinating exploration of Hedy Lamarr's legacy in film and science, and a discussion of gender roles during Hollywood's Golden Age. Presented by Maria Sanders, director of the Central Washington University Film Studies Program, and film studies lecturer, Melissa Johnson. This event is a part of the 2019 Yakima Valley Reads program presented by the Yakima Valley Libraries. This year's selected title is "The Only Woman in the Room" by Marie Benedict, a historical novel inspired by the true story of Hedy Lamarr.
