Facility Manager

The YAA is seeking a fun and energetic individual to join our small office staff as a full-time Facility Manager. The Facility Manager is often the first point of contact for people visiting or calling the Arboretum.  Primary responsibilities include overseeing all facility rentals, including sales, invoicing, and scheduling of the Jewett Interpretive Center and grounds.  He/she must be willing to work with a diverse clientele in a friendly and professional manner.  The Facility Manager will also help with general administrative and accounting duties, assist with Arboretum events, oversee custodial work, and manage the Tree House Gift Shop.  



  • Manage all aspects of the Arboretum’s facility rentals from showing the facilities to potential customers to managing all paperwork, i.e. contracts, invoices, billing, and returning of deposits.  Responsibilities also include booking staff to cover events, overseeing and scheduling custodians, and helping to promote the use of the facilities to the general public. 
  • Oversee and promote sales in the Tree House Gift Shop and order inventory as needed.
  • Assist in planning and implementing Arboretum special events.
  • Be an active participant of the Board of Director’s Facility Committee.
  • Represent the Arboretum to the general public in a professional manner.
  • Inform the public about Arboretum activities and events.



  • Minimum two years of college, an associate’s degree in business or accounting. (Preferred)
  • Native Spanish speaker. (Preferred)
  • Be punctual and have excellent customer service skills. (Required)  
  • Have good computer skills in Microsoft Office 2013.  (Required)
  • Excel at working in a busy environment with many interruptions. (Required)
  • Enjoy learning new things and being challenged. (Required)
  • Basic accounting and math skills. (Required)
  • Must have excellent writing skills and be detail oriented. (Required)
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision. (Required)



Full-time Tuesday - Saturday, plus some evenings and weekends to coincide with special events.  



Salary $13-15/hour plus health insurance.  Pay is dependent on education and experience level.  2 weeks paid vacation per year.
