Terrace Heights Development, LLC is a family owned business that has been developing about 140 acres in Terrace Heights to enhance the community and quality of life for Terrace Heights & Yakima area residents. The Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences located on the development site and THD plans to continue to build on a destination location by creating a lifestyle center with a mix of retail, commercial and housing to fill the niche for this site. The development itself is a unique setting just off the Yakima River and I-82 corridor, with a rustic setting of a Pacific Northwest theme. THD manages the development, including commercial tenants in the Iron Horse Lodge and business park. They are prepared for the growth to come in the area and plan to property manage the development on a scale that continues the quality established. Terrace Heights Development is actively involved in the economic development of the Yakima Valley. All funds are locally spent and reinvested into the area for continued growth and sustainability of the economic markets. For example, the Temple family chose to commit to the improvement of health care and grow in Washington State by donating property toward the development of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. This contribution not only benefits the immediate needs and growth of the school, but also stimulates the economic market of the Yakima Valley, encouraging additional growth in the area through other developments and assists in providing family wage jobs. By reinvesting back into the Yakima Valley and Washington State it provides for a strategic economic development plan not only for the Temple family, but those industries supporting their endeavors.
