Please join us for the 19th Annual Christmas Lights Parade, beginning at the corner of S. 6th Avenue and proceeding down Yakima Avenue to 3rd Street, to conclude at Milennium Plaza.
Following the parade will be Yakima’s famous Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, a special visit by Santa Claus and the final parade judging awards will be given out.
This year, we ask that you consider bringing food donations for the wonderful Yakima Union Gospel Mission. They serve hundreds of people, each and every day, not just on the holidays. Starting November 1st, you can drop off with our Parade Sponsor: Ron’s Coin & Collectibles, at 6 N. 3rd Street through December 23rd. You can also bring donations to the start of the parade route where we will have a truck to FILL UP!
Here’s what they need most of all:
- Canned Fruit
- Boxed Jello
- Canned vegetables
- Canned soup - especially cream of mushroom and cream of chicken
- Pepper
- Granulated garlic
- Granulated onion
- Creole season
- Kitchen towels
- Kitchen wash clothes
- Spaghetti sauce
- Canned chili
