Bundle up and join us for the Yakima Area Arboretum's annual Luminaria event on December 7 & 8!
Luminaria features a candle-lit walk through the Arboretum's wintry landscape. Over a 1000 candles lighting your way. As you stroll you'll listen to the music of the Carillon Bells playing across the grounds and delight in the twinkle lights surrounding the Japanese Garden. Then, after your walk, you can warm up in the Jewett Interpretive Center with hot drinks, listen to live music performed by various local artists, enjoy fun children's crafts, and shopping in the Tree House Gift Shop.
Park and Ride! Yakima Transit will again be offering a free shuttle service from the U-Haul (old Kmart) parking lot across the street from the Arboretum to the front doors of the Jewett Interpretive Center. So expect quick and convenient access to the trail. YAHOO!
Handicap Parking! All traffic will be directed to park in the U-Haul (Old Kmart) parking lot across the street unless you have a handicap parking pass and would like to park next to the Jewett Interpretive Center. Please Note! For access onto the grounds you still will need to drive into the U-Haul parking area before crossing over onto the Arboretum grounds using the signal light. Turn lanes into the Arboretum will be barricaded off. Show your pass at the barricade.
